😯 The Development Team finds out through conversations that important donors are current/ past volunteers. There is no documentation of this information in the donor database, or elsewhere.
🫣Volunteers who have supported the organization long-term and have interest in other areas are given the same screening and training as brand new people. They feel annoyed and unseen.
🤯Teams are scheduling volunteer meetings/ events that involve the same volunteers at overlapping times because they have not consulted one another.
😡 People with Lived Experience are often asked to volunteer in roles that require them to share their stories or relive difficult experiences. They feel tokenized or that their stories are perpetuating a stereotype.
